DescriptionThe Year 9 course aims to develop students’ confidence in their ability to engage in music by extending their musical understanding, knowledge and practical skills. The music theory component of the course aims to develop their ability to read music in a practical instrumental setting, either solo or ensemble. Students will explore the history and development of modern, contemporary music styles and look at how the music industry operates. Skills and understandings from Year 8 are developed to a higher level.
